Gas Tank Removal

We were able to continue stripping her down this weekend, it is going a little slower than we would like, but we are almost ready to put a new floor in her.
We got the gas tank out, with the help of pops and the frontend loader...it still had about 40 or so gallons in it and we are hoping that the pressure tests will come out in favor of keeping the original tank...it has been difficult to locate a 100+ gallon tank for the replacement.

Here are the pics.

June 20th - First weekend of work.

We were able to get all of the hardware taken off the hull this weekend, including:
snaps
steering wheel & cables
power controls & cables
windshield
rails
cleats
toilet
teak and more.
In addition to the hardware removal we made the first cuts on the new/old boat, by taking out the flooring. Solid for the most part, it was glassed on both sides and to the stringers. One spot was rotten (back left corner).

The First of Many Posts

Picked the 23' Formula Thunderbird up today in Asheville, NC. There is alot of work to be done here. But the guy we bought her from showed us the light at the end of the very long tunnel...IT WILL BE A SWEET RIDE.
