October Fishing Trip with Dad

We finally got to take dad fishing a couple of weekends ago... After trolling for Kings all morning with no luck, we switched up and went after some Spanish...and landed a few.

Dad pulled in a couple, and we missed about as many as we caught...but it was great to go fishing with Dad and not be stuck in the inlet/creeks targeting flounder (no offense to the flounder).

The boat ran like champ, we only had a minor issue with the batteries on day 1, but after a quick charge they were good to go.

Here is a pic of the formula pre-wash down.

VERY nice looking boat. What's it going to take to get an inshore charter on it?

Fly fishing charters will be available early spring '08, space is limited.

Thanks Kace, your charter has already been reserved my man...but inshore trips are null and void on this vessel...it was created to take out! That said, I know you are now a wooden boat, kayak guy, so we can stay w/n view of land.

Spring?

Great job again! Where did you get replacement rubber gasketing for the glass on your windshield? Mine have all shrunk and need to be replaced. What did you use to seal between the frame and the deck? Where did you get the windshield "t-mounts"? Thanks!

Thanks for the compliments...she is good from afar but far from good. : )

We actually could not find gaskets, or were a little too rushed to get it done and in the water to order and install them so we used black caulk...We found a couple of vendors that offer them and we will probably come back and strip the caulk and install the correct gaskets. The link to the vendor is on another machine...I will look it up and post it.

We actually used a garage door seal and caulked between the windshield and the hull and it turned out better than anything we could have expected...we put it down and there was about a 1/4" channel that matched up perfectly with the outside of the windshield...then we just trimmed it with a utility knife.

The T-bolts were a lot easier to find several month ago when we bought them from West Marine, they do not show them in their online catalog anymore and I needed some extras so I called them and they can back order them...give them a call...otherwise I found a vendor searching through google...but they were located overseas, so I just went with WM. I will post the links for the gaskets asap.
